Good player, without being a great one, but ship long sailed now. As said, he probably wouldn't have been much use under Moyes anyway, and now he would be too expensive.

Solanke would cost too much now. There was talk of him in the summer and man turned their noses up. Mind you I remember quite a few on here not wanting Watkins!

Yet every game I've seen City play under Pepe for as long as I can remember, they've played with someone like Foden (left footed) on the right, and Grealish or Doku (both right footers) on the left.

Far be it for me to agree with Miike but he is right about the wingers. Mind you Moyes did shift Kudus to LW late against Palace.

As for Solanke most would turn their noses up but he's doubtless a £40-50m player now. So I don't think we missed out on him as much as missed the opportunity to bid farewell to Moyes. Destroyer of all real strikers...

you come out with bollocks about the 80s after me giving a perfectly good example from about eighteen months ago where a left footed youth player put in more decent crosses than benrahma has done in all his appearances combined since. the inverted winger only works if you're overloading the box, we rarely get any cunt forward supporting the striker (currently using two sixes). you bury your fucking head in the sand, ignorant twats like you deserve a new moyes contract

So because Moyes puts certain players in unfamiliar or unsuitable roles you somehow think the only answer to that would be to put other players in unfamiliar or unsuitable roles. You realise that Bowen and Kudus have never played on the left in their entire career?

he's currently got our most skilful player in a withdrawn wide role left where has little impact, another good passer of the ball stuck next to alvarez in a completely unsuitable position and a cunt that can't pass the ball and does fuck all for most of the game playing as a ten. but yes, traditional wingers would be a disaster 😂

You talk like nobody but Moyes employs the inverted winger system when the reality is that the vast majority of teams do, especially at the highest levels.

I guarantee that if Moyes did choose to be one of the only top flight managers using old school wingers then he'd be cunted off massively for it, especially as it would probably just mean that our lone striker would be even more isolated than usual.

There's a fuckton of shit to throw in Moyes' direction, but his use of inverted wingers ain't one of them.

.........a great example of his lack of man management, and ignorance. the best display of crossing/delivery from out wide I can remember in the last two years was young scarles out in romania, playing LWB but constantly getting forward. naturally after such a performance (much like downes), he's never been seen again

He's half decent, he'd cost a fortune though and if Moyes wants him I fucking dont. I'd rather just sack the manager and take the automatic 30% rise in performances we'd get without the cunt and then let a competent manager choose his striker.

moncs, I wouldn't inflict him on solanke. I honestly think he'd struggle getting goals out haaland. he continues with this inverted winger system that as far as I know/remember only worked if you had wide players like robben who were prepared to shoot when cutting in. I know bowen's got goals but a lot of them he makes out of nothing. the system relies on fullbacks producing the majority of crosses so most of the service is shit. he doesn't even consider putting one of our left footed players on the left, how fucked is that? doesn't even give it a go with left footer on the left, right footer on the right. I moan because I know plenty of people that still do go, spending hundreds (some thousands) watching that crap. no, let's let solanke continue thriving with a manager that wants to play football
